Now that Spring is just around the corner (yes, really!!), it is time for the village to put on its running shoes once again and deliver the annual Tarrant Valley 10 (Sunday 15th July, 10.30 start) – read all about it on http://www.tarrantvalley10.webs.com. I have been beavering away since the turn of the year and I the administration is well in hand. As I type this we already have 27 advance entries, a goodly number with 3 months still to go.
I have already secured the services of a few of you, but in the weeks ahead I shall be asking for more help; race team, entry officials, water points and race marshals are but a few appointments to be filled. Please offer your support if you can and make this year’s TV10 a memorable event for the competitors and our good causes (Bus Shelter Dorset, the Louis Ross Foundation and All Saints Church, Tarrant Monkton).
This will be my last TV10 as Race Director as my wife Julie and I are having to leave the village for personal reasons. Indeed, Water Meadow Cottage is already sold (STC) and we are likely to be moving just before (or around) the date of the race. However, I shall be in the village on race day to ensure the TV10 runs smoothly.
Though I will not be moving far away, it is impracticable for me to continue as race director. If you’d like to take it on, please let me know; I can brief you fully and will undertake to mentor you through your first event.
